Risks arising from environmental and safety hazards at work

The Health and Safety executive has recently released data which states that 27 million working days were lost in 2010-2011 in the UK due to work related illness and workplace injury.Among the more serious problems can be noise,vibration,dust and gas emissions.

Exposure to dusts,which are toxic,carcinogenic or allergenic,can pose a major threat to respiratory health,whilest prolonged exposure to excessive noise levels can lead to noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus,which is a permanent senasation of noises or ringing in the ears.The Labour force survery carried out in the UK from 2009/2010 - 2011/12 has estimated that the avarage number of noise- induced hearing loss caused or made worse at work was 19,000
